As Pennsylvania works to expand its Early Learning programs, existing partnerships have been expanded and new partnerships have been developed across what were once separate systems. The Early Childhood Education Summit will provide staff from various programs (Pre-K Counts, Child Care, Head Start, School Districts and Early Intervention) with the opportunity to network and experience relevant training as a community.

Pennsylvania Child Care Association (PACCA)

PACCA is a statewide, non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to facilitating and advocating for the provision of quality early care and education to the children of Pennsylvania. The association advocates to enhance the status of the child, promotes the value of educationally appropriate child care to the general public, is a statewide resource regarding early care and education, advocates at the local, state and federal levels for quality early care and education that responds to the needs of Pennsylvania children and families, provides a forum in which members can work cooperatively to develop programs and provide services, and serves as a mechanism to coordinate and offer services to its members and the child care profession. The Office of Child Development & Early Learning (OCDEL)

OCDEL was created in December of 2006 as a joint office between the Pennsylvania Departments of Public Welfare and Education. OCDEL is a unique collaboration that creates a direct link between the two state agencies (DPW and PDE) that have jurisdiction over key programs utilized by children and families, fostering collaboration and assuring that best practices are adopted uniformly and quickly throughout the commonwealth. Ultimately, OCDEL provides Pennsylvania's children with a comprehensive, integrated early childhood education strategy that combines family and support services with education programming to increase school readiness. Pennsylvania Head Start Association (PHSA)

PHSA is a state wide non-profit organization actively involved in improving the lives of families and children, particularly those with low-income. PHSA functions as an advocacy organization for Head Start programs, families, staff and administrators in Pennsylvania. It does this by making this population aware of important issues through newsletters, conferences, and continuously improving communication between parents, programs, and administrators. The Association works to create partnerships within the community who will work collaboratively to improve the well-being of children, families, and the communities they live in. The Association's purpose is to maximize the cumulative talents of parents, staff, administrators, and friends of Head Start to collectively improve the future for children and families by providing quality leadership, training, information, and advocacy at the local, state, regional, and national levels.
